My Photoshop software has been acting up and prevented me from prepping my new drawings...cause I have been drawing! So I'm doing it off-site on another computer for the time being...enjoy...
Ok, this is a very short story I did this weekend to try out a new duo tone technique using gray and black marker. It's a scene I've had in my head for a while so I'm glad to finally get it out on paper. I know it's not Boo, but he's on his way...Be patient! Well, more patient...smile..
Sometimes when I update this blog I feel like the guy at the zoo who feeds the polar bears...If you don't feed them often and with the right fish, they can turn on you...smile. I found out the hard way today that trying to post my art on this blog while wi-fi-ing it in a coffee shop gets a lot of nosy lookie-loos. That's why I tend to have the same policy Malcolm X had: always sit in the back of the restaurant (or coffeehouse) facing the door! Such stares! You'd think they'd never seen a dick in a guy's mouth before! Sheeesh! Anyway, here ya go, polar bears...
Hadn't realized I had skipped a day of posting even though a few of these drawings were done yesterday, the majority of them were done this evening while watching 30 Rock. I love that show....
One of the unexpected side effects of this new looser style I've been experimenting with is that I like drawing women again. With my other more realistic style, I never thought the women I attempted drawing ever looked particularly appealing. The new style allows for more curves and sensuous lines which are perfect for drawing girls...or 'guls' as some of my older kinfolk pronounce the word. I promise I won't make a habit of it since some of you will go into shock if I started drawing women on the regular. But for now, why not try some escargot? Cya!
I was in a coffeehouse much of Monday doing some work for the day job. Inbetween lattes, I did some doodles on 3x5 postit notes pads. Here are some of the results. More to come in the week...
Some people get up bright and early (after a very rare Los Angeles thunderstorm!) and make coffee, read the Sunday Times, exercise (ugh!) or jack off. I woke up and drew 11 sketches in a little under 90 minutes...which is probably closest to either exercising or jacking off. But it sure woke me up like a pot of coffee...Anyway, here's the first one and the rest will follow...
