Washing of the Feet...

Since the African American foot Yahoo group I belong to recently had a little stir up over a dude who was excited about the prospect of getting his feet washed by his minister, I thought the timing of this piece was ironic. Some of the members of the group got all bent out of joint cause this guy said he was aroused by getting his feet washed in the church. I only have one thing to say to that...Get over yourselves! lol...People take this religion thing waaaay too far. Now of course, I'm a bit of the heathen...you can't be religious and draw the raunchy shit I do...although being religious actually helps some people's 'art'. Hell, Prince is religious and he wrote that "Sister" song! (Dirty Mind is my favorite album of his, no surprise.) Oh, and did you see that special on PrimeTime about the HIV epidemic? Jesse, turn your Oh Mighty Leader of Black People hat at the door when you leave, ok? He's always rubbed me the wrong way. And I usually like Libras. Oh well. It was all pretty sad. But the question of why we have allowed ourselves to get to this state is no mystery. If you live in a country where racism is barely concealed and self hate among black people is rampant (just check those A4A profiles), it doesn't take a Stephen Hawking to figure out that people will expose themselves too all kinds of things that aren't good for them. Hell, we eat, smoke, drink things that eventually will kill us everyday. People live for the now when they don't think the future is particularly bright. And yet everyone's afraid of dying but noone wants to get old either. I'll be glad when they perfect android host bodies that you can transfer your brain into. Course, there'd still be bullshit to deal with...."Your android body's dick isn't big enough..."etc...Anyway, I know, I know...you're thinking, "Less pontificatin', bitch, and churn out some mo' dirty stories!" Here's the heathen foot drawing in all it's glory...enjoy!

Happy Birthday Chris D!

This past Friday was the birthday of a special friend of mine, Chris D. I met him about six years at the NY Tom of Finland Erotic Art Show (I'm sorry, but the New York art fair is the bomb, while the Los Angeles one tends to just bomb. Joking...but the NY fans are definitely more enthusiastic! ). Anywho, I was there peddling my wares and up comes this fine, older gentleman built like an eighteen-wheeler full of brick shit houses and says he's always admired my work! I immediately recognize him as the first black Mr. America! The very same Mr. America I used to whack off to in the Muscle and Fitness books I kept under my bed before I discovered Black Inches...actually back then we didn't even have Black Inches (yes, twinks, there was a time when there wasn't a Black Inches..or cel phones for that matter!)...We were lucky to get a black centerfold once a year in Advocate Male...But I digress, I met Mr. America at that fair and we've been friends ever since. And let me tell you, he's from an era where they knew how to party! So he's one kinky dude...I only hope to be mackin' the way he is at his age and looking as good! Anyway, this is a fairly tame story I did in honor of our friendship sans dialogue. He wants me to add it and I want him to write it for me since there's nothing like an authentic voice in these things...that, and I'm the laziest s.o.b. on two legs...Anyway, here's to you, Chris D! Mmmmmwaaaah!

Figure Drawings

Here are some figure sketches. Some are recent, some are from 2005...The first and second drawings were done last weekend at a Tom of Finland fundraiser. These models were off the chain and very friendly too! (Not in that way!) Both were quite hot and my drawings barely show that. Hopefully, I'll get to draw them again.

SKETCH

A follow up to the last drawing (which I'm still trying to finish!) Going to a figure drawing session here in L.A. conducted by the wonderful artist, Miguel Angel Reyes. He has the best models! Looking forward to it. I have to scan and show more of the drawings I do from life on here.

Barefoot Bordello

The title explains it all....Well, in case it doesn't, the idea is that this is a bordello for foot fetishists (sp?). The client requested that Boo be the 'madame' of the joint. I thought it was a fun idea and perhaps I'll flesh it out one of these days. Also included is yet another page from the never-ending Boo Leather story.

Newest Comission this month

Here's another current drawing I've been working on for my client. I really like working with him because heits all done over the internet...LOL....Technology at its finest. He makes it easy for me because I have a low level of tolerance for too much back and forth. He tells me what he wants in an email and reply back with input and how much it'll cost. He agrees (which makes him perfect!) and I commence to drawin' as they say on the Beverly Hillbillies. We've never talked on the phone (I'm not much of a phone person as any of my friends will tell you, so emails are a great thing for me) and yet, we've never had a problem communitcating. Anywho, I'm also posting some other stuff since I'm sure those of you who aren't foot fetishists (poor lost souls...pun intended) may be getting bored. Included is a page from a Boo leather story I've been working on for years. Some of you may have seen bits and pieces of it in the MeatMen Anthologies available from Leland Press. Ive been in every issue since #20. Anyway, I started a leather story at the publisher's behest which at the time for me, was rare. I didn't do much with that genre of erotic art but once I started this story it just kept growing like mold! Anyway, I'm up to 100 pages, so when it's finally published, it'll make quite a book. It still needs art tweeks and dialogue so hopefully I can get to it. Anyway, enjoy this little sampler of it.

The Latest Commission

Here is the latest commissioned artwork I just finished for a fun client of mine. First up (or down as the case may be) is the original sketch I sent to the client for his input and approval. Afterwards, I went on to produce the inked version but I forgot to give one of the torturees sheer socks as per the input the client gave. The last is the finished drawing with socks added which definitely was the final touch the piece needed. I enjoy working in ink and I use a two-sided pen I found in Little Tokyo that has one black tip and one gray tip. It makes applying tones to inked drawings a breeze. As some of you who've seen my artwork on Black Wrestling Network.com or read "Brothers of New Essex" know, I love doing artwork that requires drawing celebrity likenessses doing kinky things we wish we could see. Maybe you can guess who some of these torturees are?

Stage 2: Let the inking begin!

Ok, so here we are back with the illustration I began with a pencil sketch. In this stage I'm inking in the background items such as the bed, pillows, furniture etc. Art rules day it's better to finish drawings from back to front, meaning you ink or refine the stuff that's in the background first and work your way to the front of the picture, or foreground. It helps to also use a thinner line on the stuff that's in the background and a thicker line on figures closer to the camera or viewer. Will Eisner, the creator of The Spirit, would use a thin crow quill pen to create thin lines for his backgrounds and a sable brush for a thicker line on his human figures. This is a great technique for creating depth. Knowing these rules intellectually and using them are two different things, however. I tend to not think about how I do a picture when I'm doing it and more than likely will start at one corner of the page and begin inking straight through jumping around from figures to background. But, as I've been told more than once, it's good to know the rules before you go breaking them. Anywho, next time, we'll finish this bad boy...

Commission Piece Inked and final

Here is the finished commission piece. I like the way it came together. I may have to do a series of these foot fetish scenarios!

FROM SKETCH TO FINISH PART ONE

Ok, I had promised to show my "process" of creating an complete Belasco illustration. Usually, I work very fast and do a very loose rought sketch that I promptly go to ink on...but I thought this time I'd take it slow so I can personally chronicle how I do that thing I do (oy!). Anyway, here's the first sketch of a simple piece of...well, simple pieces! LOL...Bad joke... This is done using a 2-B drawing pencil on a 9x12 2-ply bristol board with a vellum finish. I like this size cause its small and is easy to scan. It's perfect for illustrations of single figures or two man compositions. Not so easy for compositions such as the commission I did down below. It was challenging to fit that many characters into a page that size. After I deliver the finished art to the client, I'll post the finished piece. I am pretty pleased with it. Anyway (again!) I begin with a fairly loose sketch normally, but with the commission pieces, I have to be tighter so the client gets a better idea of what the finished picture will look like. When it's a piece Im doing for myself, I tend to keep it very rough and add all the details when I ink it.

Rough sketch for commission

This is a sketch I'm doing for a new client. So far the experience has been great. He knows exactly what he wants and he trusts me to deliver. Would that all transactions were as easy as this has been! It doesn't hurt that his fetishes coincide with mine. LOL...Anyway, I'm pursuing more comission work so if you're interested in getting an original Belasco creation, email me at Belasco96@aol.com and I'll see what I can do...

New Belascos

Sorry about the lack of posts, but sometimes life gets in the way of art. Anyway, I'm back in the game and newly inspired! Here are some new pieces but I do need to do some more stories. They'll be on the way. Stay tuned.
