Someone said somethin' nice about me! Go fig...

Someone posted this on the Boocomixunofficialfanclub newsgroup on Yahoo. I thought it was nice. Mainly since it said nice things about me. Hey, I ain't proud.

I was in L.A. this past weekend. I attended a Male nude artist event
sponsored by various leather
and gay organizations. Artists were there displaying their works. I
turn a corner and see a couple
of Belasco's comic pages displayed. I thought, "all right, somebody
black up in heah." I look at the man's name tag who was sketching
and it was Belasco. I immediately fell to my knees
"You're Belasco? I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy! I suck (heh-heh)!"
Brother is nice looking,fiendly, well of course he was friendly, he
was selling books, sketches, and prints, but it wasn't
the fake Macy's salesman friendly, he took the time to talk to me.
One series he is doing I wasn't aware of is he is doing comics that
feature "large" brothers. Not "thick", or "bears" but large. I
thought it was kewl he was erotizing "large" brothers, along side
"Boo" and his adventures.

The rest of the event was OK. and no I did not get his autograph.
What am I going to do with a signed piece of paper. I shoulda
gotten a picture!

That Belasco can see the sexiness of US LARGE Brothers Elevates him
even MORE in my eyes! I can't WAIT for this to come out! I will be
the first in line to buy it!

Been having DSL problems and so haven't been able to post anything all weekend. Ironically, the problems didn't start until I upgraded it. Figures! Anyway, here are some art for your Monday. Those of you who got Columbus Day off, just eat it!(joking!) I have to work...sigh. N'joy!

Saturday Evening Post Sept.

Enjoying a do nothing weekend after the whirlwind of exhibiting at the Tom of Finland erotic expo. If any of you have info about other similar erotic art events in your cities/countries, let me know. I'd like to expand the brand, so to speak. I'm interested in events that are overseas, Canada, and of course within the States. Most of these type of functions are usually on either coast here in America (exceptions being some leather events that happen nation-wide...I'd be interested in those too) but some of you guys may have more knowledge about erotic art fairs (straight or gay) in your area. For instance, if I had done my homework, I'd have known about The Folsom Street Fair happening this week up in San Francisco. Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can form a schedule for next year. Anyway, on to the smut...er, art!

Thanks to the Tom of Finland Foundation...

...For another amazingly successful Tom of Finland Erotic Art Fair. The location, though more compact than previous years, really worked well for the crowds as far as parking and attendance. Hopefully we'll be staying there for future art fairs. It was great getting to see the artists I've worked the fair with over the years (going on ten years now! amazing!) as well as getting to connect with artists who are newer to the fair like a terrific artist from NY named Ingmar and the mack daddy of homoerotic art, the incredible Joe Philips. And of course the best thing about the fair is getting to meet my peeps (yes, I said 'peeps'...)who have supported me over the years like master photographer, Greg McNeal and a good friend from the Chicago dayz, Jongo. It was equally as nice meeting some of you who frequent my blog (Frank,Alex, Larry, Maurice, FreeLeo, and Ahtha...those are the ones at the top of my mind now, if I've forgotten anyone, feel free to read me later in the comments section...smile). Another pleasant surprise was the attendance of Chris Dickerson, whom I met almost seven years ago at the Tom of Finland E.A.F. in New York City! Wonderful seeing you looking so good, Chris! And finally, a very special thanks to my helpers or co-conspirators who helped me sell this weekend, E.D. and Lil C! I would have been a basket case...(ok, MORE of a basket case) without your invaluable help.
For me, of the nicest aspects of the fair was the warm reception my change in drawing styles was met with. Everyone was very complimentary of it and I hadt a lot of different types of people responding to it than I've had in previous years. I think the style allows for more variety and the content doesn't seem quite as explicit, so people can see the quality of the art rather than the size of the penises, asses, etc. I guess I must be onto something since the sales were brisk. 'Course, everything was priced to move. I plan on making the sketches available on a separtate site in the near future, but until then, anyone who's interested in anything they see on this site can email me privately at Belasco96@aol.com and we can go from there.
